Anger Management

Stopping the raging bull

Anger is a natural human emotion and enables us to fight threats to our safety. Anger in itself is not the problem. Anger only becomes a problem when it gets out of control and leads to hurtful language (which we may later regret), aggression or if it becomes chronic. Uncontrollable anger can cause serious conflicts in our personal and professional relationships and impede our success. Controlled anger allows us to keep our cool, and address and resolve our issues in an assertive, logical way to the party involved.

Domestic abuse, road rage, and workplace violence, are some examples of mismanaged anger. If unchecked, chronic anger can wreak havoc throughout our lives.

A stressful, imbalanced life, frustration/ resentment caused by work and relationships unresolved hurts from a traumatic past, or genetic predisposition can make us susceptible to reacting angrily to external stressors. These stressors may come in the form of challenging situations (eg missing a flight), or perceived provocation from a specific person.

Chronic anger can lead to health problems like heart problems, high blood pressure, arterial damage, nervous system collapse, aging skin

" Do you often regret your actions when you lose your temper and wish you had handled the situation differently?

" Do co - workers and superiors view your anger as unprofessional?

" Are angry outbursts and confrontations straining your relationship with your family?

* If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, you may have chronic rage within you..

* Anger felt toward a situation or person is a reaction. This means that it is our perception of the event or person that makes us angry, Recurrent situations of perceived anger forms a pattern of uncontrolled anger, triggering the brain to react in the same way when presented with similar situations. Therefore, chronic anger is a learned behaviour.

At the moment of anger, we fully believe in our perceived view of anger. To get control over anger, we have to break the trance. Hypnosis helps to break the pattern of thought and behaviour by changing our subconscious responses.

With hypnosis, we can help ourselves view things differently and respond in a more positive manner. We will be able to remain calm and objective in the same situations that previously would have made us angry. We can then experience the powerful transformation of our anger and negativity into a calm centredness that will give us joy in our lives.

“I was a little taken aback when my therapist told me that I needed the session more than my son and that my son is ok! But after the session and his analysis, I realized that he is right. I do need the sessions as I needed to learn how to deal the stress my son was giving me. Only with that that I can help change my son’s behavior. Thank you and God bless you. J

I am really glad that I took the step forward in seeking your help in the management of my anger and the damages that it has caused with my eldest son. I have seen improvement in the quality of my life. It is like life has slowed down and there is a veil of calmness blanketing me when I experience flashes of anger. I am especially glad that my son is seeking joint therapy with you so that we can grow together in managing our anger and improving our relationship and bond. After today’s session, I look forward to bring on my own and taking charge of my own anger and managing it instead of the other way around. God Bless!

“Thanks for helping me with myself. I have learnt a lot of good psychological methods, techniques and habits. I’m sure that with these skills I can improve myself and eventually reach my full potential and be able to pursue my goals more easily in life. What I liked about hypnosis is that I can relax better during it and I respect its ability to influence the mind in subtle ways that last forever. My anger control has improved and my ability to remember is much better now. I feel less of unnecessary anxiety and I have more will to finish what I started now. I’m also focusing better. Thanks friend. You’ve been a fantastic help and I wish you all the best.”

After the very 1st session, surprisingly to know I’m able to receive my hubby calls and start to have a conversation which has been quite a while I haven’t spoken to him through the phone. I also realized while teaching or even going through my son’s homework that I’m able to talk to him slowly, not so anxiously, even the tone to him also had been softer. I am now able to hold my anger or not so easy to ‘hot up’ also part of the new life to me after hypnotherapy.

During the last session even though I had uncomfortable feeling over my stomach, but after the session, the feeling is gone and I felt so comfortable. Amazing! Thank you.

“My therapist has helped me to change my mind, control my anger and helped me to write faster too. He also tells me jokes. I like him as my therapist and I would also remember his name and Hypnae Center. I would like to thank him a lot. I wish to see him again. I wish he would remember me too.”

Mstr T Y X – 11 years old (18 Apr 2009)

“I experienced unhappiness and was extremely down with problems I had in a relationship. The worst thing of all is that I had sleepless nights. I find myself angry most of the time and became extremely suspicious. I decided that I need help with the trouble I was going through to find “my old happy self” back again. I want to be happy again. In fact, the 1st hypnosis session works on me. Almost immediately I find I am able to divert my attention rather quickly whenever I start to think or behave negatively. Most important to me of all, I slept through the night since.”

“What I really liked about the hypnosis was getting positive reinforcement in such an intense way. It gave me the ability to catch myself when I get down, feel frustrated, angry whatever. And I can say to myself I will be okay or I can do this or don’t give up. I can stay calmer longer than before and I can calm down faster than before. I will take this experience with me into my future. Thank you and all the best.

Additional Information

One significant effect of hypnosis is to cause your body to enter a deeply relaxed state. In this state, the body's curative powers are enhanced and benificial hormones and enzymes are secreted. You will not only feel better but relaxed and yet energized.

Did you know?

When you are hypnotized, your body secretes a hormone called Melationin which is a strong antioxidant and which may promote longevity!
